Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library:
On Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11:00am
The Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library is hosting: The Legend of
Freedom Quilts and the Underground Railroad Learn about the history, legends and
personal stories that make up the rich heritage associated with the Underground
Railroad. Explore how African traditions and the use of story cloths documented
the history of the tribes and set the stage for the slaves to learn the lessons
needed for survival during the arduous journey to freedom. African slave songs
and the lessons contained in them are also discussed. This presentation is given
in period dress and will last about an hour. Registration is required for this

The TAB (Teen Advisory Board) will be hosting an open-house in
March. Information about the date and time will be posted at the end of the
month. TAB is for teens grades 7-12 and is a great way to participate in
community service.
H1N1 Update
As you may have heard, a new influenza
virus called the H1N1 influenza virus was first identified in the United States
in April 2009. H1N1 has caused illness ranging from mild to severe. While most
people who have had H1N1 have recovered without needing treatment,
hospitalizations and deaths from infection with this virus have occurred.
Whereas seasonal flu usually affects the elderly population and children under
the age of two, H1N1 was seen this past spring spreading rapidly among children,
teens and young adults. Read more...

Late
Bus Policy & Procedure
Students may sign up for the late bus at
anytime during lunch. A sign up sheet is posted each day
on the wall in the cafeteria. After lunch students may
sign up in the main office if they need to take the late
bus. Late bus pickup at the HS is around 3:00 PM.
